The Dunamis Piano Duo commissioned me to write a two piano piece inspired by Arirang, perhaps the most famous folk song from The Republic of Korea. Not being from the culture of this folk song and tradition, the Dunamis Piano Duo invited me in and demonstrated the significance of the song and the practice of creating variations and elaborations on it's theme.
